“Bass performance suffers when the sound waves from speakers and subwoofers start to bounce around a room,” explained Niklas Thorin, Dirac’s head of business development, Home & Professional Audio. This all allows for flexible placement of subwoofers in a space to meet the user’s design or aesthetic preferences.
It also corrects the low-frequency sound waves produced by other speakers so that the bass produced by each speaker is in sync with the overall system. It then identifies gaps in the sound waves and distributes the bass evenly. The technology collects measurement and location data from each subwoofer to determine how a system’s bass is distributed throughout a room. Dirac Live Bass Control uses machine learning and artificial intelligence to co-optimise the components of a sound system to deliver accurate, consistent bass throughout a room.
